Winters bone homework In the film, "Winter's bone", the story seems to rely upon a understanding of its social context. In this document I shall be discussing how far the film relies on this concepts. In the film, the society the main cast reside within is blighted by rural poverty, a severe lack of opportunities for possible social improvements such as stable income, poor quality schools providing sub par education and educational benefits and a severe disconnection from the norm found in typical united states areas. Instead, the community seem to believe in familial loyalty and a strong focus upon kin in a patriarchal society and most work and strong tasks, creating strong and resilient women that have the task of raising and educating the children thrust upon them like a heavy weight. Evaluation

An Evaluation Of  Blood Noir   And   The Dead Man During the making of the films, we decided to make one a drama thriller about a murder and detective, shot in the style, and in parody, of a film noir. The second film,  The Dead Man,  was shot hyper-realistically and in a mainly POV type way. We did this to give both films a sense of character and to use the films as metaphors for the characters themselves.  Blood Noir  being a steady-cam, black and white film gave it stability and a sense of professional production and also symbolises the hard-fact-based nature of the detective, David Doyle. We made the second film hyper-realistic to convey the madness inside of our murderer, Bogart Bates, and the hand-held sporadic movement creates an uneasiness throughout the film that is meant to seduce the viewer into a state of         almost-fear. Synopsis

Film Two ·          Bates is shown murdering the kid. His motive is unclear but supposedly he is insane and looses his temper. There is a scene of gratuitous torture and violence. ·          Doyle gets called regarding the "suicide" and from Bates’ perspective he sees his chance to cover it up by requesting to assist Doyle. He leads him to an undisclosed location and we see him attack Doyle in the train station lift and drag the body away. ·          Bates finally gets to torture Doyle, he gags him, beats him and eventually murders him. ·        Finishes with a similar scene to the beginning and therefore has an almost circular narrative. ·        Film ends with a blackout after looking at Doyle's dead body on the floor of the art studio Bates used to frame his masterpiece artwork in, the murders.
